VP COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING (UA-VPCM-IUBLA) Job Summary
The Core Properties Interface Designer participates in the design and development of Indiana University's core digital properties. These properties include gateway sites and applications that are vital to the operation of the university.
The Interface Designer envisions how people experience our products and brings that vision to life using a combination of tools such as visual designs, low- and high-fidelity prototypes, and front-end web markup and code. Takes on complex tasks and transforms them into easy-to-use products that include static websites, data-rich web applications, and native mobile apps. Anticipates the needs of our users, and advocates for those needs during the development process.
Works in a small embedded team that handles multiple changing priorities with tight deadlines. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in web design and development. Combinations of experience and related education may be considered.
Direct experience in web / database application design and development with specific focus on information architecture, user interface, user experience, visual design, and front-end coding. Experience building and designing with design component libraries and design systems. Demonstrated skills relating to website, application, and mobile design and development. Ability to manage projects as well as the ability to articulate strategic technical needs and requirements to management. Ability to plan software interactions through visual design, mockups, and wireframes. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Excellent problem solving, time management, and analytical skills. Ability to effectively communicate and exchange information with a wide diversity of individuals. Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively and establish collegial relationships with internal counterparts. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Design, or a technology-related area. Five years of experience in web design and development. Experience working with diverse and distributed teams and creating products for diverse audiences. Work Location
