Segal is establishing a physical presence in Juneau, Alaska and seeks a Health Benefits Analyst who will join as a member of the Company’s West Region Health Consulting Practice. The incumbent will report to the West Region Health Practice Leader and be closely supported by practice colleagues on projects that will involve delivering a diverse range of group health benefits plan consulting services to local clients. The Analyst’s onboarding will involve travel to select offices in the West Region for orientation and training. There will be periods of time when the Analyst will work remotely without other Segal colleagues being physically present and, directly with colleagues in teams. This is a unique opportunity to perform in a role that will provide important on-sight support as we expand into the Alaskan marketplace. It’s a role that requires an individual who possesses: maturity, confidence, good judgement, self-initiative and an accountability for meeting commitments pertaining to work quality and on-time delivery.
Under the guidance of and in collaboration with senior Health Practice colleagues, the Health Benefits Analyst interacts directly with clients and vendors in conducting research, providing benefit plan analyses and interpretation, preparing plan-related communications and supporting the delivery of other relevant health benefit plan consulting work products. Responsibilities include but not limited to:
Preparing quarterly and annual financial reports;
Conducting renewal analyses;
Benefit plan pricing;
Analyzing complex technical data with regard to health benefit plans;
Preparing budget projections;
Preparing bid specifications and, analyzing proposals.
A Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance or business required.
Completion of or working towards completing CEBS certification.
Work experience (internship or full-time) involving employee benefits (retirement and/or health) plans is preferred but not required.
Proficiency in use of computer software to include Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
