Description

  • Create and execute external marketing campaign using a variety of media showcasing opportunities to Dallas ISD students and generating excitement as the result of new construction projects at district facilities.
  • Create and execute external marketing campaigns to recruit and retain partners and volunteers, support parental involvement efforts and support for the Dallas Education Foundation.
  • Collaborate with other district departments (Communications, Bond, Construction Services) to present consistent branding identity and messages to outside entities, including parents and communities.
  • Use targeted media and messaging in multiple languages in development of strategic marketing campaign.
  • Leverage relationships with community partners to share how the new/renovated facilities will help districts, neighborhoods, and communities.
  • Communicate and collaborate with external marketing and advertising agencies on projects and campaigns as required.
  • Research, analyze and monitor results using focus groups and other feedback tools.
  • Develop, monitor and report on performance measures that document effectiveness of marketing Initiatives.
  • Coordinate groundbreaking events, dedication ceremonies and staff various bond meetings with the community to build support and excitement around new and renovated facilities.
  • Provide support and direction to staff members in the department with the goal of ultimately increasing student enrollment and student achievement.
  • Work with staff and principals at each of the campuses to deliver key messages through various forms of media, including district website, social media, email newsletters, signs, brochures, flyers, posters and meetings.
  • Develop and manage action plans and enhanced communication plans.
  • Coordinate with News and Information to write news releases and advisories and pitch media ideas to targeted media.


Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's degree from accredited university, Communications, media, marketing, journalism or related field.
  • Required 5+ years of experience managing external communications for a similar large organization or school district.
  • Experience leveraging marketing strategies to effectively communicate messaging leading to increased brand strength and growth and retention of target audience.
  • Experience with media buys and advertising campaigns targeting diverse communities.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, with an ability to work independently and highly self-motivated.
  • Possess strong organizational, time management, and human relations skills.
  • Must have experience working with a complex, diverse organization.
  • Must be able to adapt to emerging forms of communication, including social media and video.
  • Experience with student recruitment strategies and private and/or charter schools admission process are a plus.
  • Understanding of Dallas' neighborhoods and history preferred.
  • Ability to shoot and edit photos/video may be helpful.
