The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for contributing to the Company Mission to be the vital link in the supply chain by providing exceptional customer service, and consistent and accurate on-time order fulfillment. The Warehouse Specialist supports the Company Vision by consistently seeking ways to improve performance and by pro-actively teaming with co-workers to support a variety of warehouse activities associated with customer orders, inventory management, and shipping and receiving. The Warehouse Specialist must have a positive attitude and always treat customers and co-workers with courtesy and respect. These responsibilities are performed with an emphasis on safety, accuracy, and efficiency in support of the Company's mission, vision, and values.
Knowledge and Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two year's related experience in a warehouse, materials management or inventory capacity and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to read and write the English language.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Previous experience interacting and working with customers highly desirable.
Forklift certification and 2 to 3 years prior experience in a high volume warehouse or inventory environment.
Prior experience with MRP/inventory management systems preferred.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Ability to concentrate in a busy environment and stay on task.
