  • Job Position Summary Description:
  • MAHLE Service Solutions is a rapidly growing international vehicle tools and diagnostics supplier that has been designing and distributing high quality vehicle diagnostic systems and devices since 1986. We are currently searching for a highly motivated and qualified Hardware Engineer to join our Hardware Development Team.
  • Working as part of the Hardware Development Engineering team, the Senior Firmware Engineer will be responsible for day to day operations regarding firmware within the Hardware Development Team.
  • The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience with electrical schematics, firmware tools, and microprocessors. This position requires a senior level of understanding of firmware design, validation, and an extensive knowledge of industry standard processors and board level parts.
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for all aspects of firmware design and development for assigned programs.
  • Act as the expert in firmware matters for all programs at MAHLE Service Solutions.
  • Utilize engineering education and expertise to design, implement, and produce new hardware products.
  • Analyze schematics with analog, digital and power supply circuits using Altium Designer software.
  • Support the execution of electrical and environmental test plans, including firmware for EMC testing for manufacturing.
  • Research, develop, design and debug electronic firmware and circuits with microcontrollers
  • Develop and test embedded software implementation.
  • Analyze end-user design specifications and engineering solutions.
  • Conduct architecture reviews of firmware designs to ensure compliance with internal engineering protocols and external standards.
  • Reading technical drawings
  • Present technical and project status reports
  • Recommend engineering design modifications

  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
  • C and C++ development including object oriented design concepts
  • Understanding of underlying OS theory and how it applies to embedded operations
  • Build and release process knowledge using industry standard tools
  • Microcontroller firmware application specific knowledge.
  • Ability to use Altium designer or other electronic design tool chain. Able to quickly navigate engineering electrical schematics, navigate between schematics and layout diagrams.
  • Firmware design expertise with RTOS and IRQ based paradigms
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work with a diverse team of engineers
  • Highly desirable Qualifications:
  • CAN, CANFD, DoIP, KWP vehicle protocol experience
  • Specific work experience with Microchip PIC processor designs. ARM based processor designs.
  • FreeRTOS and Linux OS understanding
