Designer I - PRECISIONscientia

Precision Medicine Group Bethesda, MD (On Site) Full-Time
Position Summary:

Demonstrates a well-honed understanding of effective communications. Collaborates with PRECISIONscientia Content Development Team and ACD (Associate Creative Director) to design effective creative solutions that are aligned with client's goals and branding. Responsible for developing, coordinating, and working with a production studio to develop deliverables for a variety of promotional and medical education programs. Presents work internally with knowledge and flair; defends work with logic, creativity, and (appropriate) passion. Stays current with industry best practices and innovations for creative design, typography, as well as interactive marketing and digital media trends.

Essential functions of the job include but are not limited to:

* Develops creative deliverables, such as: presentations, print, interactive, multimedia, sales training modules, tradeshow materials, brochures, posters, interactive presentations, landing pages, emails, banner ads, videos
* Flows and re-flows layout, resizes art, develops campaign versions, concept and logo execution, and creating PPT presentations that are clean, engaging and dynamic
* Collaborates with all internal team members to provide professional recommendations for concept, design, and production.
* Takes an active interest in clients' market and develops a sound knowledge of clients' product and target audiences
* Designs in a range of visual styles as appropriate for different clients and mediums
* Researches and develops conceptual graphic design and/or illustration for assigned projects and submits to/works with Associate Creative Director for internal review process
* Follows through on original concepts with clear, concise design that is both visually interesting and appropriate to the subject matter
* Delivers work that's on-brief, on-time, and on-budget
* Incorporates ideas and makes revisions in response to the team and client feedback
* Maintains responsibility for project through final execution, reviewing and signing off on all revisions and production phases
* Adheres to agency standards regarding file preparation, from concept stage through to final execution
* Develops competent and convincing presentation skills to the client
* Engages client feedback and criticism in business-like, open-minded manner
* Contribute to creative brainstorming sessions
* Consults with the ACD and Program Manager to evaluate design specifications for individual project needs
* Quality checks and coordinates with production studio on finished layout and artwork for printer
* Provide after-hours availability to traveling teams, as needed
* Manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, identify and address any deadline challenges
* Quality Check all project deliverables with a keen attention to detail before sending on for review
* Coordinate with printers to develop print estimates; review printer proofs

Qualifications:

Minimum Required: Associates Degree

Other Required:

* 2+ years experience in a design studio, ad agency, or in-house marketing department for the pharmaceutical and/or medical education fields; an appropriate portfolio
* Experience with brand development, new business development, producing materials for medical education programs, brainstorming promotional concepts

Preferred:

* Bachelor's Degree
* Experience designing interactive marketing projects: HTML5, CSS, website design

Skills:

* Demonstrated ability to think creatively and provide targeted design solutions, from concept to development and through to final production of tactics
* Advanced knowledge of Adobe CC Suite, and all current design software including, but not limited to, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop; plus, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word
* Thorough understanding of print production process, user interface design, interactive media design, image optimization, and industry best practices
* Full understanding of color theory, typography, and visual communication principles-such as logo design best practices, layout creation, and design for print and web
* Knowledge of infographic design and basic data visualization
* Personable team player who displays excellent interpersonal and communication skills
