LOOKING FOR: A self-driven, Human Factors engineer with the ability to obtain a secret clearance to join our AMERICAN SYSTEMS Maritime Lifecycle Readinessteam as aHuman Factors Engineerin Washington, DC. Candidate will support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Ship Design Team (SDT). As a Human Factors Engineer you will: * Work within the Maritime Lifecycle Readiness Division to provide on-site support to the USCG * Join an established team with even more opportunity to grow * Maintain your secret clearance * Receive robust benefits package that includes Employee Stock Ownership Plan! A week in the life of a Human Factors Engineer: * Plans all phases of laboratory and field studies as required to satisfy customer needs. * Mastery of a wide range of quantitative, qualitative, analytical, and evaluative methods of systems analysis to assess human performance, cognitive workload, GUI usability and interaction, ergonomics, and requirements verification. * Conducts evaluations from inception to completion, including the identification of facilities, measurement methods, subjects, collection and analysis of data, and documentation of results. * Accurately documents the results of these evaluations in well-crafted reports, Coast Guard letters, memos, briefings, or demonstrations aimed at increased operational effectiveness by recommending design alternatives and trade-offs, or suggesting additional study efforts.
