Relying on experience and knowledge, the Reinsurance Coordinator is responsible for accomplishing the following assignments. These assignments reflect substantial variety and complexity and are broad in nature.

  • Liaise between clients and Account Executives; request or deliver correspondence, document information with a high level of professionalism.
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with producers, brokers, agents and customers as well as communicate effectively through broker negotiations to ensure profitable production.
  • Contact clients and explain features and merits of policy coverage, recommend amount and type of coverage based on analysis of clients’ needs.
  • Assist Company and Account Executives to meet production goals and client expectations by identifying exposures for rating and quoting, negotiating terms and conditions with producer agents, producing quotes and binding coverage to meet deadlines, and handling and servicing an existing book of business.
  • Prioritize work according to client and Account Executive’s needs in a time sensitive environment; keep Account Executive apprised of potential client issues and client aware of Account Executive’s needs.
  • Assess risks to determine the appropriate price, coverage, terms and conditions.
  • Enter and maintain client and policy data in computer system and electronic file system; track and follow up on tasks forwarded to other staff or clients to ensure timely completion.

Experience & Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience in an insurance underwriting background is preferred
  • Ability to interact positively succinctly and professionally with all levels of internal and external clients and be comfortable building a rapport with differing personalities.
  • Possess and have ability to apply basic knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy
  • Good organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company’s business to proactively respond to changing business environment
  • Proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word)
