Job Description

Brokerage Relationship Manager

Buffalo, New York

BASIC FUNCTION:
The Brokerage RM is responsible for the enhancement, administration, and maintenance of the client relationship. The Brokerage RM builds relationships with clients and internal partners through the delivery of exceptional customer service characterized by mutual respect, understanding, and trust.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate profitable customer relationships through quality customer service, customer profiling and customer education regarding product features, benefits and requirements.
Maximize client relationships by assessing their business needs and offering creative solutions, guidance, and services
Effectively collaborate with internal business partners to expand service offerings of existing clients and identify new business opportunities
Maintain and improve existing relationships through increased interaction with participating in sponsored events
Attain designated business goals of revenue, profitability, and client satisfaction within your area of assignment
Efficiently and accurately open new account for Individuals, Trust and Corporations pursuant to KYC parameters
Understand document requirements needed to facilitate estate and beneficiary distributions, and the opening of
Manage client mailings related to KYC review, retirement distribution processing, and other promotional related items
Provide research and timely response to client inquiries as it relates to cost basis, donor information and corporate actions
Recognize and minimize areas of risk for both firm and the client as it relates to processing activity
Create and cultivate a client experience that exceeds the client’s expectations

Cultivate a team environment by bringing a positive attitude and consistently searching for ways to help your peers to ensure an excellent associate and client experience.
Adhere to applicable compliance/operational risk controls in accordance with Company or regulatory standards and policies.
Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.
Complete other related duties as assigned.

NATURE AND SCOPE:
Work directly with internal business partners and operational departments as needed to address and resolve complex and straight-forward Brokerage related processing requests. Act as liaison between client and Clearing firm’s processing departments.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience or, in lieu of a degree, a combination of 5 years of higher education and/or relevant work experience.
FINRA Series 7 and 63 required
Ability to work effectively as a member of a highly specialized team
Excellent communication, multitasking, and analytical skills
Ability to resolve customer issues utilizing critical thinking skills and communicate appropriate responses
Knowledge to operate Window’s based programs which require intermediate computer skills
Present a positive, professional image
Well organized individual with ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
Knowledge of Pershing Trading Platform
FINRA Series 65, 24
