Engineering Manager

aloft New York Brooklyn Brooklyn, NY (Onsite) Full-Time
To manage department and supervise the maintenance operations of the Hotel, i.e., refrigeration, heating, plumbing, heating and cooling plant operations, energy controls and efficiency, etc., maintaining standards as required.

Essential Responsibilities:

-Manages department Supervisors and assigned associates.

-Manages maintenance operations for the hotel, including but not limited to refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventative maintenance, Hotel front and back of house spaces, A/C units, ice machines, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, fire and life safety systems, and other systems and equipment owned, leased or managed by the Hotel.

-Monitors electric, gas, oil and water consumption on a prescribed basis.

-Maintains an ongoing maintenance program for guestrooms, meeting rooms, public space back of the house spaces, bathrooms and all Hotel equipment.

-Monitors inventory levels, ordering new supplies as needed and maintaining a log of supplies used and purchased

-Ensures that all purchased services, electrical, plumbing, cleaning etc. are performed in a manner that exceeds expectations.

-Provides professional and courteous guest service at all times.

-Ensures all projects are completed according to specifications and are completed on time.

-Works closely with Housekeeping Services to ensure coordination of projects (i.e. PM/DC Projects).

-Coordinates with Director of IT, Chief Engineer and Security to maintain key inventory for all locks.

-Aids and instructs contractors in scheduling work in completing assignments by a specified date.

-Performs inventory and purchasing duties as required.

-Maintains cleanliness of grounds and attractiveness of landscaping.

-Ensures cleanliness and orderliness of all workspace and storage areas.

-Attends daily standup meetings.

-Complete projects as managed by the Chief Engineer.
