Our client, located on the west side of Madison, is looking for a direct hire full-time Assistant General Manager to join their team! This role provides overall leadership, supervision, and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards to positively impact business results. Hours for this position will range from 50-60 hours per week. To start, hours will consist of Monday through Thursday 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The pay for this position is $46,000+/year based on experience.

  • Cultivates a team environment that provides exceptional customer service while directing the team and ensuring all staff members perform at a consistently high level
  • Continuously improves operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to company operating standards and philosophies
  • Manage job listings
  • Review applicants; set up interviews, interview and applicant follow up
  • Onboarding, orientation and training of new hires
  • Follow through on disciplinary action and/or termination
  • Responsible for scheduling of staff
  • Floor management; maintain a safe, clean and secure environment for all guests and staff
  • Handle guest party requests
  • Café management; ensuring food safety procedures are followed
  • Money management; count drawers, create deposits, handle cash register issues
  • Assist guests with memberships
  • Attend corporate calls
  • Develop and maintain weekly inventories
  • Other Administrative tasks as needed
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 2+ years experience in Hospitality/Retail (Theme Parks, Family Entertainment Centers, Hotels, Resorts, Casinos, or Restaurants)
  • 2+ years supervisory or management experience required
  • Demonstrated ability in developing team members in areas of responsibility
  • Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Willing to learn and adapt to changes or challenges
  • Maintain positive working relationships with all employees, management, and vendors
  • Exercises good judgment in decision making
  • Appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.)
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays
  • Previous work experience with teenagers and children is a huge plus including developing children programs (after school programs/camps/workshops)
  • Ability to recognize problems and problem solve
  • Set goals and convert plans into action
  • Receptive to feedback and self-improvement
  • Serves as a role model by demonstrating and upholding company policies and standards
  • Able to work in noisy, fast paced environment with distracting conditions
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Adaptability, flexibility, general enthusiasm for the business
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Background check required
  • Company t-shirts provided, jeans are appropriate
  • CPR/First aid certification is preferred
