Project Superintendent

System One is currently seeking a Project Superintendent for our Client in Pittsburgh, PA.

Summary:

The Project Superintendent is responsible for field operations of commercial, institutional and industrial construction projects, including coordinating sequence of work, subcontractors, material and equipment, as well as oversight of self-performed work. The Project Superintendent shall ensure that projects are completed safely, on schedule and within budget. The Project Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Responsibilities of Superintendent:

MANAGERIAL

*Schedule and coordinate the work of subcontractors, consultants, vendors, and self-perform labor. Ensure that subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work. Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.

*Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team forresolution. Maintain daily log of activities on the jobsite.

*Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings designed to coordinate the work. Oversee job progress and completion of punch list.

*Attend OAC meetings and provide input as needed.

QUALITY  ASSURANCE/  QUALITY CONTROL

*Manage quality control processes regarding the work being performed.

*Ensure that the installed work is in compliance with Contract Documents, Specifications and governing Building Codes

*Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.

*Issue notices of non-conformance to subcontractors in regards to quality of work orscheduling.

HEALTH/SAFETY/ENVIRONMENTAL

*Promote the safety culture on projects.

*Ensure subcontractor compliance with HSE policies.

*In the absence of an embedded safety rep, perform and/or delegate the duties of a safety rep. as necessary

ADDITIONAL  FUNCTIONS

*Review coded estimates, drawings and specifications.

*Assist the Project Manager in development and management of the CPM Schedule. Review subcontractorscopes of work and identify "Scope Holes" and alert the PM.

*Notify the PM of any changes and document the labor, materials and equipment necessary to complete the extra work.

*Review critical submittals prior to submission to architect and after they are issued for construction. Work with the PM/PE to maintain a complete set of as built documents.

*Accurately track self-perform labor time and quantities and submit to the PM weekly.

*Be aware of  the status of job costs and assist the Project Manager in cost report maintenance.

*Communicate using the following tools: telephone, computer generated logs, email. Blueprint reading.

*Endurance and ability to visit entire job site, including stairs or other elevated structures. Monitoring jobsite general health and safety.

Minimum associates degree in Construction Management or Engineering and minimum of 10 years field experience. Alternately 15 years of trade experience with 10 of those years as a Project Superintendent. Experienceon at least one project over 25 mil.
