Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Operate CNC Machine tools to manufacture high quality precision products.
                                         
MACHINIST I – OPERATOR:                
  1. Blue print reading including interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  2. Use inspection devise {calipers, micrometers, height gages, etc.}.
  3. Ability to complete daily logs, inspection forms, etc.
  4. Ability to perform tool changes, tool offsets, and tool wear offsets.
  5. Ability to perform work coordinate offsets to accommodate part datum variation for fabricated parts and    
  6.  
  7. Ability to perform daily preventative maintenance.
  8. Basic knowledge of CNC controls to monitor safe accurate execution of machine operations.
  9. Adheres to all company policies and procedures paying special attention to safety. Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with regulations.
  10. Maintain clean, orderly and safe work area at all times.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
                                            
 
MACHINIST II - TECHNICIAN:
All Operator skills plus the following:
  1. Setup experience on large Boring Mill, CNC Vertical and Horizontal Machine Centers.
  2. Understanding of tooling and applications to perform machine operations.
  3. Ability to read and understand CNC programs and perform edits as needed to enable production.
 
 
MACHINIST III - PROCESS TECHNICIAN:
  1. All Operators and Technician skills plus the following.
  2. Ability to design and develop dedicated work holding fixtures from customer supplied data.
  3. Oversee fixture build process ensuring project timing and accuracy.
  4. Perform capacity and cycle time studies and implement improvements.
  5. Educate employees on set-up techniques, operational procedures, and programming language of CNC machines.
 
 
MACHINIST IV – SPECIALIST (FIVE (5) AXIS):
  1. All Operator, Technician, and Process Technician skills plus the following.
  2. Ability to develop and execute a plan to reduce set-ups of complex parts for multi-axis machining operations
  3. Support the development of best practice programming and processing methods for multi-axis machining.

*While working in this environment, the employee will be exposed to machinery, moving equipment and material, moderate noise, airborne particles, fumes and various levels of temperature created by the manufacturing process.
 
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
 
Job Hazard Awareness, Lock Out Tag Out, Crane Training, Hard Hat Training,
 
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
 
High School Diploma or Equivalent – preferred.
 
EXPERIENCE:
 
Prior machinist experience – required.
