Specification Associate
Pay Rate: $25.00/hr

The Raw Material Specification Associate is responsible for supporting the Research & Development (R&D) and Regulatory Departments develop raw material specifications for dietary supplement ingredients including vitamins, minerals, botanicals, probiotics, excipients and other nutrients. Duties include engaging suppliers to obtain ingredient profile documentation (specifications, certificates of analysis, and supplier statements) and working with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate quality metrics that are consistent with the application of finished products. Working with existing templates and work processes, organize and enter data to document raw material specifications to be used to assure quality of incoming raw materials.

Essential Functions:
--Accurately and thoroughly create raw material specifications
--Archive completed documentation within the company’s electronic filing system
--Regularly report progress towards objectives
--Engage suppliers to obtain ingredient profile documentation (specifications, certificates of analysis, and supplier statements)
--Work with internal stakeholders to determine appropriate quality metrics that are consistent with the application of finished products
--Work with existing templates and work processes to organize and enter data to document raw material specifications
Requirements:
--Bachelor’s degree in a Life Science discipline
--Extremely well organized and an analytical thinker
--An understanding and familiarity with chemical names and units of measurement
--Strong MS Word and Excel skills; Proficient in Outlook
--Demonstrated ability to learn and utilize software/technology
--Good communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
--Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently
--Good time management skills and the ability to work with deadlines
--Attention to Detail: Job requires being careful about detail, accuracy and thorough in completing work tasks
--Problem Solving: Ability to take a problem and look for alternative solutions as well as steps necessary in order to achieve desired goal(s)
--Cooperation: The job requires being pleasant with others on the job and displaying a good-natured, cooperative attitude
