Level: Hourly (25-29 hours) | $18.00 per hour

General Functions:
The 4th – 6th Grade Ministry Director will be responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the 4th – 6th Grade Ministry, ensuring that children experience a welcoming, safe, and engaging environment where they can find and follow Jesus. This role involves recruiting and training volunteers, developing age-appropriate curriculum, managing weekly services, and coordinating special events, while fostering strong partnerships with parents to support children's faith development at home.
Supervision Received:
Reports directly to the Kid’s Pastor. The employee must seek authorization for a broad scope of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Service Management: Manage assigned ministry rooms and volunteers during service experiences on Thursdays and Sundays to ensure smooth and effective operation.
- Leadership: Recruit, train, and lead ministry volunteers (small group leaders, teachers, tech leaders, etc.) while providing ongoing support and development to maintain a strong team.
- Discipleship: Provide care for volunteers and families, fostering spiritual growth and a sense of community within the 4th – 6th Grade Ministry.
- Parent Partnership: Engage and collaborate with parents to support their children’s spiritual development, providing resources, communication, and opportunities for involvement.
- Curriculum Development: Create, edit, and prepare curriculum that is engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with the church’s mission and values.
- Supply Management: Purchase and prepare necessary supplies for weekend services and ensure materials are available within budget.
- Administrative Tasks: Complete weekly administrative tasks such as leader scheduling, leader assimilation, and maintaining accurate records.
- Policy Enforcement: Ensure all EastLake Kids Ministry Policies and Procedures are followed to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Event Assistance: Assist with designated EastLake Kids Ministry events by contributing to planning, attending, execution, and follow-up activities.
- Meeting Participation: Attend weekly ministry and staff meetings to collaborate with team members and stay informed about church initiatives.
- Super Sixth Growth Group: Manage the 6th graders discipleship program, including curriculum development, supply coordination, leader recruitment and training, and promotional activities. Any shift in hours will be discussed in advance with the supervisor.
- Support Kid’s Ministry Pastor: Assist the Kid’s Ministry Pastor with assigned responsibilities, providing additional support and leadership as needed.
Required Skills:
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Experience in recruiting, processing, and training volunteers to support ministry activities, fostering community and purpose among volunteers.
- Ability to nurture, support, and provide pastoral care for volunteers, promoting well-being in a positive environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
- General audio/visual knowledge.
- CPR/First-Aid Certification preferred.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Additional duties as assigned.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Mobile – In and out of the office to ensure task completion.
- Overtime hours as required by ministry needs.
- Church staff is required to abide by Cultural Expectations (tithe, attendance, conduct, etc.).

- This position is classified by the Church as a PART-TIME paid position and is non-exempt from overtime provisions, as stated in the Employee Handbook.
