Residential Living Manager
Looking for an exciting opportunity to make a real impact on the lives of young individuals seeking education and career development? Consider joining our dynamic team at Phoenix Job Corps Center as the Residential Living Manager. The Residential Living Manager that will be responsible to provide students with a safe and structured living environment that fosters student retention, satisfaction, achievement, and success. You will oversee the daily management of the residential living programs and use proper judgment and discretion to resolve student and staff issues and problems, manage the non-class hour residential living environment, and ensure quality leadership and evening programming to enhance students’ independent living and employability skills while ensuring strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data. This role will supervise and manage the program and activities of the Residential Living Department.

The Job Corps Center provides students with the opportunity to earn their High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED), and hands-on training in the various trades throughout the US including: Certified Nurse Assistant, Clinical Medical Assistant, Medical Administration Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Plumbing, Painting, Security and Protective Services, HVAC, Landscaping, Electrical, and Building Construction Technology.

Job Duties
o Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.
o Ensures Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
o Interviews, recommends for hire, disciplines, recommends for termination and evaluates the performance of the employees in the Residential Living Department.
o Responsible to provide students with quality and structured non-class hour activities including leadership, independent living skills and other special programs.
o Ensures that Center facilities are organized, clean, safe and conducive to student achievement and success.
o Responsible for the behavior management system of the Center during non-class hours to ensure safety of staff and students.
o Coordinates staff coverage to ensure student areas are supervised.
o Ensures all staff adhere to rest and meal break requirements.
o Works with the Human Resources Department to fill staff vacancies in a timely manner.
o Employs sound time-management and delegation skills. Holds staff accountable for producing quality work, develops staff for career progression and disciplines staff that fail to meet goals.
o Provides required/supplemental training for new and current employees.
o Effectively motivates, empowers and requires staff to perform his/her job responsibilities. Motivates and manages staff to work effectively, creates a supportive work environment, recognizes staff accomplishments and proactively addresses staff performance concerns.
o Develops Center-beneficial linkages within the community for education, employment, Career Technical Training and WBL. Promotes a positive image of the Center and Job Corps and establishes meaningful relationships with elected officials.
o Provides transportation as required.
o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
o Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift and appropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy to students and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.
o Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures that quality is maintained and student needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.
o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner and contributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Provides quality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.
o Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluates appropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensure prompt/appropriate action is taken and ensures that problems are, in fact, corrected.
o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services are provided to students.
o Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Manager On-Duty to include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments and positions.
o Other duties as assigned.
Position Work Hours
Mondays 9am - 6pm, Tuesdays 3pm - 12am, Weds and Thurs 1pm - 10pm, Fridays 10am - 7pm, Off Saturdays and Sundays
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required.
- A minimum two years of experience in program management and direction with a substantial experience working with youth.
- Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.
