This position involves working on an interdisciplinary team of physicians, psychiatrists, dietitians, culinary team members, therapists, nurses, patient assistants, and administrators to provide individualized patient care. Located in a beautiful rural setting in Durham, NC.

Job duties include:

  • Assessing nutritional needs, dietary restrictions, and health status to develop and implement patient-centered, individualized dietary care plans and provide nutritional counseling
  • Advising patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, food selections, and food preparations
  • Assessing the appropriateness of physical activity
  • Providing individual and group nutrition education and counseling on a variety of topics
  • Collaborating with other member of the interdisciplinary team to create robust care plans for every patient
  • Coordinating and overseeing other therapeutic activities to diversify and individualize patient care
  • Documenting all patient-related care and encounters in a timely manner
  • Providing individualized meal coaching
  • Participating in peer supervision with other dietitians as well as the interdisciplinary team

The ideal candidate would possess the following:

  • 2+ years of clinical experience, specializing in eating disorder treatment
  • Outstanding clinical judgement
  • Understanding of nutrition care process including evaluation of biometric markers of nutritional state
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Strong sense of ethics
  • Sensitivity to culture, race, spiritual beliefs, gender identity, and sexual orientation
