JOB SUMMARY

The Production Control Specialist II is responsible for reviewing and updating production schedules to meet customer demands, investigating production delays, and assists in the determination of resources necessary to meet on-time delivery. Acting as a liaison between production departments, the Production Control Specialist II communicates status of parts, materials, sub-assemblies, and tools on a daily basis, focusing on priority items, and relaying pertinent information to keep department supervisors apprised of production changes.

The Production Control Specialist II directly reports to the Production Manager
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION
Education, Training, and/or Experience
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Industrial Distribution, Supply Chain Management or similar field preferred
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in scheduling, expediting, distribution, supply chain and/or inventory management in a manufacturing or production environment (aerospace preferred)

• Regularly required to sit, speak, and listen for extended periods of time
• Frequently required to use eye‐hand coordination, repetitive hand movements and manual dexterity to handle, finger, or feel
• Occasionally required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Occasionally bend, reach to shoulder level and lift, carrying, pushing and/or pulling up to 60 pounds
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
• Hearing level within normal/average range

ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:

• Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
• Maintain a working knowledge of interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, projects and specifications
• Knowledgeable in integrated manufacturing software programs, Microsoft Word, and Excel
• Strong organizational skills; ability to plan and handle multiple projects at a time
• Adaptable to changes in the work environment; ability to deal with frequent changes, delays, and unexpected events
• Communicate clearly and diplomatically in all situations; listen intently to others; seek clarification
• Ability to work under pressure; manage competing demands; maintain composure and professionalism at all times
• Exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views; provide and welcome feedback with a positive attitude

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Assist in production planning to ensure efficient operations
• Identify production issues and recommend solutions
• Perform root causes analysis and develop strategies to avoid downtime and delay; assist in corrective actions
• Perform inventory management and report on warehouse status
• Update production schedules to accommodate priority objectives in a cost-effective and timely manner
• Inquire about manufacturing delays and request additional resources to achieve on-time delivery as needed
• Communicate production status updates regularly in person, on phone, and/or electronically
• Utilize company ERP and SharePoint systems to monitor production and track parts and materials
• Help validate lead times and recommend changes
• Assist in budget analysis and preparation
• Develop process improvements to maximize workflow efficiency
• May participate in Six Sigma projects to help reduce waste, improve efficiency, and decrease cost
• Generate production-related reports as requested
• Other duties as assigned
