Demand Planner

Mitsubishi Electric US Suwanee, GA Full-Time

Mitsubishi Electric Trane HVAC US LLC is looking for a Demand Planner in Suwanee, GA. 

The essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the sales forecast/demand planning and supply/inventory planning of product lines as assigned.
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of an accurate 12-month demand forecast of assigned products to be delivered through statistical generation and analysis in collaboration with sales, product management, order management and other internal/external stakeholders
  • Develop the forecast recommendation each month using sales trend, distributors sell in and/or sell out information, the inputs from sales and customers and any key indicators.
  • Research and analyze product family and customer projections to achieve forecast accuracy target.
  • Track and report Forecast accuracy (FA% and bias%) including root cause and performance problem solving
  • Responsible for keeping track of inventory, anticipate demand and suggesting purchase.
  • Expediting and timeliness follow-up of all products from the various suppliers to manage backorders
  • Responsible for the data integrity in SAP/Planning tool for the assigned product lines.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining PSI (Purchase, Sales, Inventory) documents and tools.
  • Work closely with the overseas vendors and other internal departments to ensure product availability and be the main point of contact.
  • Prepare and support new product introduction, new business launch as well as manage smooth transition of model changes (phase in/out), working closely with other internal teams.
  • Suggest inventory policy to meet increased or reduced demand keeping the service level as required.
  • Review, set and update inventory on hand target and the process every quarter.
  • Ensure that there is sufficient inventory of business functions without overcapitalizing stock which doesn't generate the revenue.
  • Calculate, track and report inventory health and inventory on hand days and other KPIs' for each SKU including root cause and performance problems solving
  • Performs other job functions as required by the team

Education / Experience/ Training:

  • College degree in Industrial Eng., business management or a related field.
  • Experience working in supply chain management, demand planning or material planning function.
  • Excellent analytical, organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong mathematical capabilities and the ability to extract data from multiple sources
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Power-BI).
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Prior experience with SAP and Access is an added advantage.
  • Solid initiative skills for continuous improvement both individual and in a team environment to meet desired business results.
  • Understanding of the global sales, inventory and operations planning process
