Rockhurst University is seeking a Senior Director of Academic Resources and Student Success to join the Student Success and Retention team!

Job Summary

The Senior Director of Academic Resources and Student Success will provide leadership and coordination of academic resources and student success, including but not limited to the Learning Resource Center, Disability Resource Center, and Student Success Coaches. In addition, they will also need to have the ability to foster strong relationships with contacts both inside (administrators, advisors, and faculty) and outside of the university (faculty and staff at other institutions of higher education). The position is a full-time, 12-month staff position that typically works 8am-4:30pm with some evening and weekend responsibilities.

Responsibilities and Expectations:

* The Senior Director will work closely with the Associate Provost, Deans, and Admissions to provide for a smooth transition and support throughout the year for incoming first year students.
* This person will strategically design, implement and monitor a comprehensive student support program based on targeted academic resources such as tutoring, supplemental instruction, success coaching and/or other related support services.
* The Senior Director will perform outcomes assessment and create strategic plans to further develop the centers offerings to support student success.
* The Senior Director will recruit, hire, train and supervise Learning Center coordinators, Success Coaches, Disability Resource Center personnel, and oversee recruitment, hiring, training, and evaluation of student staff.
* This person will manage annual budgets, develop proposals and other initiatives for expanded student academic support funding.
* Oversee and manage the Learning Center, Disability Resource Center, Student Success Coaching, and Testing Center, developing policies and procedures that ensure academic integrity and co-curricular learning.
* Provide support for students who are identified as high risk, ensuring they are connected to resources that assist them in achieving their academic goals.
* Assist in developing, coordinating, assessing division specific retention and student success initiatives, policies, and metrics.
* Represent the Academic Resource Center and Student Success on respective university committees.
* Remain informed of national trends, changes, and best practices related to student success, academic resources, and disability resources.
* Nurture and cultivate a campus environment that provides opportunities for engagement, inclusiveness, personal and professional growth for staff and students.
* Performs related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in management, education, or related field AND at least 5+ years of related professional experience
* Demonstrated success in creating a student-centered environment
* Demonstrated experience leading and developing professional staff
* Strong evidence of experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
* A shown commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and access when working with students and other constituents
* Strong leadership, interpersonal, and relationship building skills; excellent communication skills; and ability to exercise a high level of independent judgement, and organizational/customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Masters Degree in Student Success, Student Affairs, or related field
* 3 years supervisory experience
* Experience analyzing and manipulating data
* Experience with Banner and Argos
