Job Description


Responsible for management of the commercial loan origination system (LOS) product on the nCino system. Develops strategy for the product and executes on that strategy with business and technology partners including design, development, implementation, process, and change management. Ensures product/services are efficient, profitable, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.


Single point of contact integrating and coordinating activities across the credit lifecycle including front, middle, and back office areas. Responsible for design of solutions for Business Banking and Commercial loan sales and credit underwriting. Will own the business strategy for assigned features including:
  • Recommend product enhancements and strategies to support business growth, enhance internal and external customer experience, mitigate risk, reduce errors and increase efficiencies.
  • Defining how the product will support strategic business objectives including business case development
  • Collaborate with CLM product management peers to prioritize new features
  • Draft User Stories (Business Requirements) for new features
  • Collaborate with technology to estimate and design new features

Manage all aspects of new product implementation and existing product modification to include but not limited to the design and development of services; act in a liaison capacity with affected departments.

Coordinate development of management reporting, analyze and communicate results delivering accurate and timely information across the credit process.

Play a key leadership role in design and development of the new credit lifecycle automation program including:
  • Ownership of business requirements, ensuring end product meets business expectations and project goals
  • Integrate and represent the business stakeholders into technology projects under the Credit Lifecycle Management program
  • Coordination of stakeholders in sales, credit, lending services and compliance
  • Analysis of tradeoffs between various business and stakeholder needs, recommending solutions that balance end user experience, productivity, and risk management
  • Support of change management including training design

Maintain understanding of credit regulatory environment and ensure product complies with legal or regulatory requirements.

Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable. Design, implement, maintain and enhance internal controls to mitigate risk on an ongoing basis. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.


The position is responsible for managing multiple product lines or the services for a major market segment.

The position has extensive contact with other bank departments for the effective and profitable marketing of new products and the enhancement of existing products.


The position is responsible for managing a staff depending upon the product and need.


Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years' proven commercial banking, credit, product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience, or in lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' proven commercial banking, credit, product management, financial, operations and/or project management experience.

Strong interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated financial analysis skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Proven leadership experience.


Commercial or Business Banking Sales experience

Master's degree.

Knowledge of software programs utilized by M&T's commercial lending organization including AFS, ERM, SHAW, etc.

Agile Development - Product Owner Experience

Knowledge of nCino and software programs
