Creative Financial Staffing has partnered with a prestigious historical institute to identify an Operations Accountant/Human Resource Admin to join their team.

Highlights of the Operations Accountant/Human Resources Admin Opportunity:

  • Our client is a renowned historical nonprofit founded over 40 years ago.
  • The institution preserves and provides access to historical political and public service materials and collections.
  • This highly visible role reports directly to the CFO and will perform critical tasks for the executive team and the Board of Directors. They are seeking a person who likes to challenge the status quo and brings new ideas to the table.
  • This is a very versatile role that has accounting, human resources and administrative responsibilities.

The Operation Accountant/Human Resource Admin's responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Accounting:

  • Process and post accounts payable and cash receipts weekly.
  • Perform bank reconciliations on-a-daily basis.
  • Process Bi-Weekly payroll, including administration of time records of staff and the proper processing of new hires and terminations.
  • Assist in the annual audit process and tax information gathering process.
  • Ensure timely payment of vendors, awards, and expenses associated with various programs that run throughout the year.
  • Prepare form 1099s.
  • Assists with grant reporting.

Human Resources:

  • Assist in the management of benefit program annual renewals.
  • Manage employee benefit vendors to ensure all plans are update-to-date with current employees.
  • Coordinate & process any employee changes of benefits, new enrollments and termination of benefits.
  • Coordinate the communication with new employees and interns, including preparing new employee/intern packages and processing all related information.
  • Prepare and distribute human resource communication to current employees.
  • Keep current with employment labor laws to ensure payroll and independent contractors are properly paid and classified in accordance with current laws.
  • Work with health insurance agents for renewals of policies, analyzing for the best pricing.
  • Assist with the intern program establishment/management

Admin:

  • Data entry and clerical assistance for the accounting department
  • Copy back-up documentation related to funds and grants.
  • Communicates with grant recipients and research staff to coordinate the recipient's arrival date and payment of their award.
  • Administrative assistance to the CFO, including staff emails, preparation of Board materials, preparation of employer benefits information.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 3 years' experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
  • Experience with Benefits Administration highly preferred.
  • Payroll experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience transitioning to or participating in a paperless work environment.
