Cyber Security Engineer (Information Assurance)

PAE is currently seeking a Cyber Security Engineer (Information Assurance) to support our customer in Fredericksburg, VA 

May be required to travel OCONUS (as needed).

 Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide support for systems across the entire Assessment and Authorization (A&A) process.  This support will consist of documenting, monitoring, updating, and managing systems to maintain an acceptable security posture and to achieve an Interim Authority to Operate (IATO) and Authority to Operate (ATO) across the various local and deployed locations. 
  • The Contractor shall assist with all A&A system documentation for submission to the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) or other site/program specific Designated Approving Authority (DAA). Types of artifacts that will be required are below:
    • Hardware and Software Lists
    • Hardware and Software diagrams
    • ACAS and NESSUS scan results and analysis
    • Plan Of Action and Milestones (POAM)
    • Risk Assessment Report (RAR)
    • Security Technical Information Guides (STIG)
    • Manual and Inherited Security Controls
    • Firewall modifications for Ports and Protocols
    • CCB Charter
    • Incident Response Plan
    • Contingency Plan
    • Configuration Management Plan
    • Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts, Bulletins, and Advisories
    • DADMS submission and updates for the different software applications used by NEFB
    • Any additional Risk Management Framework (RMF) required documentation
  • Perform activities in compliance with current guidance for administrators and users relating to the policies, procedures and controls required by DoD standards for the A&A process. 
  • Ensure each assigned Cybersecurity control is implemented according to the applicable guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of experience in DoD Certification Processes for systems to obtain an Authority To Operate (ATO). 
  • A complete understanding of the deployment and documentation of the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) within the RMF accreditation process.
  • Experience completing accreditation package documentation necessary to obtain an ATO.
  • Experience with Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), NESSUS, and/or Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) scanning and the impacts and remediation steps required within the accreditation process.
  • Experience with documenting and mitigating security controls, whether inherited or manually applied.
  • Technical experience in administration of information systems.
  • Must be able to successfully pass all medical requirements for deployment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET security clearance.
  • Ability to obtain a US Passport.
