  • 3-5 years of inpatient facility coding experience in mid- to large-size acute care hospital
  • Associate's degree in Health Information Management Technology (minimum)
  • AHIMA certification (RHIA, RHIT)
  • Ability to achieve 95% coding quality accuracy rate
  • Ability to achieve 95% DRG accuracy rate
  • Ability to maintain coding productivity standards agreed upon between 3M and respective customers
  • Strong working experience with severity adjustment systems (e.g., APR DRGs, Elixhauser, Vizient)
  • Strong working experience with reimbursement methodologies (e.g., MS-DRGs, APR DRGs)
  • Strong working experience with patient safety indicators (PSIs) and hospital acquired conditions (HACs)
  • Working experience with Clinical Documentation Improvement (e.g., DRG reconciliation, retrospective physician querying, clinical indicators)
  • Strong working experience in coding all types of inpatient records/services lines including: cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, trauma, spinal fusion, obstetrics, ,
