Job Description

Lead team of Process Improvement Specialists and Project Managers dedicated to delivering lasting improvement efforts to the ongoing operations of Children's administrative and other non-clinical areas. Play a key role in setting up the structure and processes for how the team operates.

Experience

Undergraduate degree

Minimum of five years relevant experience

Knowledge of Children's

Advanced information processing skills

Experience in leading and facilitating workshops

Advanced skills in Visio, Excel, Word, and PPT

Advanced oral and written communication skills with attention to detail

Ability to work collaboratively with operational leaders and employees at all levels

Effective problem-solving and complex data analysis skills, Creativity in problem solving

Must be able to function in dynamic, changing environment

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in relevant area

Education

Bachelor's degree.

Certification Summary

Project management certification strongly preferred.

Process improvement certification strongly preferred.

Epic electronic medical record certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively and productively with teams across organizational lines, including administrative/executive staff and patient care systems users.

Proven organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and time management skills; able to function in a dynamic environment subject to impromptu changes in schedules and priorities.

Must be able to work on and lead multiple projects concurrently.

Experience in leading transformational change.

Job Responsibilities

Team management

Lead and manage a team of individuals - including project managers, process improvement specialists, and requirements gatherers.

Orient and train new team members and serve as a resource for other employees and staff members in the areas of project management and process improvement.

Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.

Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.

Team building

Build and maintain a strategic improvement process that includes: defining source of truth data and KPIs; Identifying and engaging key stakeholders; Diagnosing root cause issues to presenting problems; Identifying meaningful, lasting solutions and start steps toward implementation; Building and facilitating a change management approach to create buy-in and ownership; Maintaining, monitoring, tracking and reporting single source of truth for Improvement Metric KPIs, documenting results of improvement efforts

Maintain an excellent working relationship with operational leaders and internal clients, with a strong focus on regular and clear communication. Pick-up-the-phone and desk-drive-bys strongly encouraged.

Oversee documentation, training, and procedural consistency/quality across work portfolio.

Prioritize portfolio of improvement projects to deliver results and resource projects appropriately.

Work with the Director and peer Manager on resource and portfolio planning, project and request intake process development, requirements gathering/documentation standards, reporting and dashboarding.

Identify, evaluate, and implement new projects and improvement opportunities (internal business development) that assist in the achievement of system goals.

Team output

Lead the team, and facilitate multidisciplinary teams, to evaluate processes and systems, generate alternatives and make recommendations to eliminate redundancy, increase utilization, reduce costs, improve customer satisfaction, and produce improved processes and outcomes.

Contribute to the development of portfolio-related performance metrics and reporting to assess the overall success of implementation teams, operations, processes, and improvement efforts.

Contribute to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta project management and process improvement methodologies.
