ALUMNI RELATIONS (UA-ALUM-IUBLA) Job Summary
Are you a student web designer with a passion for front-end design? Do you want to work within a creative team and apply your technical know-how to build websites that are elegantly presented, easily navigated, and outcome oriented?
The IU Alumni Association is seeking a Web Design Intern with coding skills, digital media production skills, and a strong desire to work as part of a team. We're a collaborative, creative group with a deep passion for supporting the alumni of Indiana University. We're looking for someone who shares our commitment to producing excellent work on behalf of IU and its alumni.
The Web Design Intern helps maintain and optimize a range of websites, interactive publications, and other digital media projects that help us communicate with our key audiences of IU alumni and donors. Helps organize, code, publish, and update our sites. Ensures all IUAA web properties adhere to security and accessibility guidelines. Collaborates with our Marketing team and other key stakeholders. Assists with other projects such as creating and maintaining forms, processing videos and photographs, and helping support our online community. Required Qualifications Currently enrolled IU student working toward a Bachelor's degree.
Understanding of web publishing, with knowledge of basic usability and user experience concepts. Working knowledge of content management systems (Wordpress). Beginning-level front-end programming skills, such as with HTML5 or CSS3. Knowledge of social media platforms and how they interact with websites. Knowledge of Internet security, usability, and accessibility issues. A solid understanding of web graphics, and basic layout and design skills. Willingness to learn new platforms and languages. Preferred Qualifications
Working toward a Bachelor's degree in Informatics, Interactive and Digital Media, or another information technology-related discipline. Work Location

This position will work 12-15 hours per week through spring semester 2020, with the possibility of extension. Office hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Job Classification
