Automation Software Engineer

You will work daily as part of an agile team to help maintain a high level of application quality. This will involve close collaboration with the business to identify Quality feedback needs, developing and maintaining a continuous testing system, and integrating with a CI/CD pipeline.

As part of this job the applicant will continue to monitor test coverage of the applications, identify opportunities to improve the quality of the applications, and report back to product owners and stakeholders to enable timely business decisions. You will work independently, as part of a team, and across business functions to build a sustainable continuous Quality feedback system.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Analysts, Development, Business to develop effective test scripts to maintain a high level of application quality
  • Configuration and business rule generation within the products being deployed.
  • Generate dashboards on reporting using the business tools
  • Communicate the test approach and construct/present quality/application health to stakeholders.
  • Work with cross functional teams to ensure quality.
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business or related field and a minimum of 5 years' application testing experience. (In lieu of a degree a combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 5 years' application testing experience)
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience
  • Understanding of various test approaches, including white box, black box, load testing and regression testing
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of QA processes and methodology

Education and Experience Preferred:
  • Experience working in an Agile Environment; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for all the required team interactions
  • Experience working with BDD/TDD methodologies
  • Experience with (1) scripting languages (C#, Java or Python), and (2) Selenium/Webdriver or equivalent
  • Experience with test automation frameworks
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience using GIT or equivalent source control
  • Agile Engineering practices (XP, TDD, pairing, refactoring, and so on)
  • Jira, Zephyr
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) knowledge
