Graphic Designer

SUMMARY

This position includes a combination of graphic design duties including creative concepting, art direction, production, multi-page layouts, photo art direction, and copywriting. Must be a team player with a passion for innovation and the ability to multi-task effectively. This position will collaborate with internal team members as well as outside partners, so a positive and professional demeanor is required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned.

* Working closely with the Bank's creative agency of record, visually maintain the established First Interstate brand identity by creating and designing various materials for print and digital collateral
* Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams to produce a wide range of materials that may include presentations, collateral, signage, internal communication, newsletters, and marketing materials
* Work on a wide range of projects to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet business goals
* Obtain input from management, ensuring designs meet organizational standards and brand expectations, express ideas accurately, and represent the Company appropriately
* Translate strategic direction into high-quality design
* Design and produce the Company's ESG Report, Annual Report, and annual calendar
* Follow workflow processes and procedures; mitigate risk by adhering to quality control measures including compliance, legal, and regulatory guidance
* Ensure projects are completed with high quality and on schedule
* Perform retouching and manipulation of images
* Assist with video production and editing
* Update and maintain internal databases of designs, photography, and video

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

* Expert knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, print, and the web
* Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
* Working knowledge of CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript
* Exceptional creativity and innovative design skills
* Excellent time management with demonstrated ability to prioritize critical assignments and manage numerous projects simultaneously, working under tight deadlines
* Ability to respond quickly to requests/needs while remaining flexible to changes and changing priorities
* Self-starter with ability to work independently and cooperatively
* Meticulous attention to detail
* Can analyze complex problems and situations and is solution driven/oriented
* Up to speed with current marketing techniques and best practices
* Ability to work in hybrid environments as well as collaborate/coordinate efforts across functions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Online Graphic & Web Design, or Media Arts from a four-year college or university and a minimum of two years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous banking experience preferred but not required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The employee must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Must be able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. The position requires the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must be able to work with moderate mathematical concepts. Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust/focus.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

We offer a competitive total compensation package including base salary and benefits. The pay range for this position is $63,768 to $$105,217 per year (in CO & WA), and depends on a variety of non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills and experience, education, and geographic location. Benefits include, but are not limited to, medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and Paid Time Off, including Federal holidays.
