Project Analyst, Order Management, Supply Chain Management

As an analyst at Cleveland-Cliffs Steel, you will be part of a team making steel that goes into products that are visible all around you. Ideal candidates enjoy hands-on, collaborative environments and are willing to seize opportunities to develop themselves. Analyst’s plan, develop, and participate in projects and assignments that have a significant impact on production and customer satisfaction. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Review mill order processing plans to ensure they meet metallurgical, specification, and customer standards and requirements while making necessary corrections as needed to comply.
  • Schedule mill orders to meet negotiated ship dates without violating established lead times and facility loading parameters, capacities, and capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot and correct problems associated with legacy system interfaces and other downstream systems as needed.
  • Provide assistance in resolving data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies collaborating with IT and specification metallurgy.
  • Strive to provide customer satisfaction by acknowledging orders quickly with accurate ship dates that will feed our delivery metrics in PowerBI.
  • Build cooperative working relationships with various other departments throughout the plant(s)
  • Work closely with customer service group to identify opportunities to streamline order entry and planning processes
  • Find examples of incorrect processing sequences to identify the root cause, and collaborate with other departments to implement solutions

Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited school
  • 2 years professional experience in manufacturing or related field
  • Computer skills - Microsoft Office Products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well within a team environment to achieve a common goal.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills to achieve desired results.  
  • Ability to demonstrate strong analytical skills, troubleshooting and strategic thinking.
  • Possess strong attention to detail.

Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business related field, Supply Chain preferred
  • A basic working knowledge of steelmaking/material flow a plus
