Tax Accountant Healthcare
Tax Accountant
Summary:
In this role you will provide tax compliance and tax research, tax planning and advisory services to a diverse range of clients, including primarily tax-exempt organizations, as well as preparing/reviewing tax returns.
Goals:
- To provide for future expansion of the tax healthcare practice, both in staff and revenue
- Train lower/middle level staff in the preparation of tax-exempt returns and forms; gathering of essential data necessary for the preparation of tax returns during other engagements
Essential Functions:
- Prepare and/or review tax returns for exempt organizations, corporations and partnerships
- Proactively engage the Firm in future growth of the tax-exempt practice
- Provide educational sessions to all staff levels of the Firm
- Communicate effectively with clients, potential clients, partners, and staff any new regulatory/industry issues that would affect tax-exempt status or how the organization conducts their business
- Manage engagements to ensure exceptional client service and expected realization rates
- Conduct, lead and manage tax research engagements for both compliance and planning matters
- Review staff work and provide timely, specific, and meaningful feedback
- Lead and mentor staff, while maintaining multiple client engagements and competing priorities
- Stay current on legislative, regulatory and industry changes
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or CPA candidate
- Minimum of 2 years of public accounting tax experience
- Working knowledge of tax compliance and planning, preferably including tax-exempt organizations (especially hospitals and integrated healthcare systems)
- Educational credits to provide eligibility for CPA licensure in the State of Georgia
- Excellent client service skills
- Strong internal and external communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Strong analytical, judgement and critical thinking skills
- Experience writing technical memos
- Ability to communicate and work with taxing authorities
- Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
