ESG Data Analyst

Neuberger Berman New York, NY Full-Time

We are looking for an experienced data analyst with knowledge of the asset management business to join our ESG Data & Reporting team. This person should have 3-5 years of experience in analyzing, auditing, and defining data sets as part of an enterprise data architecture. The candidate should be passionate about assuring data is of high quality and ready to be utilized for research, investment processes and reporting. This is a highly visible role with engagement with global technology teams, data governance, investment teams, marketing, and reporting.


+ Acting as the expert on ESG data, responsible for ESG data management and quality assurance; perform data discovery, data analysis and profiling

+ Serving as the point of contact for ESG data inquiries and assisting clients with data utilization

+ Working closely with ESG Investing team and liaising with data vendors to onboard and test new data sources

+ Partnering with global technology on projects to integrate ESG data into business processes including research, investment models, compliance, and reporting

+ Partnering with data governance team on building ESG business glossary and data catalog, identifying critical ESG data elements and assuring proper data linkage

+ Working closely ESG reporting team to identify new opportunities for automation and to develop data analytics and solutions

+ Contribute to strategic solutions on ESG data integration


+ Able to source data from data warehouse; perform data discovery, data analysis, profiling, and build data glossaries and catalogs

+ Strong technical skills including working experience with one or more of the following: SQL, Python, VBA, Collibra, Alation

+ Ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization, communicate and engage with various stakeholders including senior developers, management, and investment professionals

+ 3-5 years' hands-on experience in managing data and analytics within Financial Services / Asset Management. Familiarity with third party ESG data and/or fixed income data a plus

+ Experience with one or more of the following topics: Data Management, Data Profiling, Data Quality, Data Glossaries, Data Catalogs, Taxonomy, Data Modeling, Metadata, Data Discovery, Business Semantics, Reporting Dashboards and Visualization, ETL, Data Intake, Search, Data Architecture

+ Familiarity with BI reporting tools such as Tableau, Business Objects, is a plus

+ Highly motivated, accountable, and focused on delivering results for the firm through independent contributions and collaboration with stakeholders

+ Proficient in MS Excel, VBA and PowerPoint
