Position Overview

This role will serve as a strategic partner and primary point of contact between the IT organization and the Global Finance Leadership team, bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technology solutions. IT Finance Applications leader is responsible for the technology development and implementation to enable and optimize Finance Processes. A primary responsibility will be small- and large-scale implementations of SAP and finance application portfolio to meet the global transformation of newell brands. As a leader within Newell Brands Global IT you will need to be aligned with the corporation’s visions and strategies. You will lead a global team and ensure that the vision and strategy are conveyed and carried out through all levels and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with finance leadership and teams; providing knowledge and expertise to finance leaders and process owners in identifying opportunities for technology and prioritizing initiatives
  • Define and monitor IT Finance projects to address business needs; delivering on time and on budget
  • Responsible for leading SAP full cycle implementations for Finance modules and correlating interfaces; with an emphasis on global process standardization and harmonization
  • Manage alignment of varies project deliverables with business requirements throughout the project and delivery life cycle
  • Lead, engage and develop team of established business analysts, technical architects and project managers
  • Provide best practices to aid in the blueprinting, realization, testing & roll-out of business solutions
  • Resolving FI technology issues as they occur and communicate to the finance community in layman’s terms the issues and resolutions in a timely manner.
  • Deliver business case results on cost, time and quality.
  • Lead cross functional process discussions and propose best practice solutions
  • Global alignment on processes, work distribution and communication to the global finance IT community

Qualifications
  • 10+ years’ experience in Finance ecosystems and SAP ECC, SAP Financials
  • 10+ years in managing and leading teams; preferred 5+ at a director level
  • 5+ Successful SAP full cycle implementations
  • Well versed in global finance best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing finance system applications
  • High impact individual with the ability to both challenge, persuade and influence top management
  • Strong organizational capabilities to manage multiple priorities
  • Anticipate obstacles, plan contingencies and allocate resources to changing needs
  • Ability to deliver presentations that highlight risks (qualitative and quantitative) and propose solutions
  • Analytical and problem solving abilities, with keen attention to detail;
  • Self-motivated and direct, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and foster collaborative relationships
  • Strategic vision to lead newell brand’s transformation and growth agenda
Preferred Experience
  • SAP certification
  • SAP S4/Hana
  • FI System implementation in the CPG industry
  • Experience with SAP ECC global implementations
  • Business Experience in the following would be a plus:
  • Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Finance Audit
Education

Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis either in Finance or Information Technology/Computer Science, with a minimum of 10 years of related experience. Master’s Degree or CPA preferred

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site in Atlanta, GA IT office and off-site.
