As part of the Engineering Team, we are looking for a Navigation System Engineer. You will have the following responsibilities:

  • To act as Navigation Signal Processing Engineer;
  • Lead all activities of Signal Processing in order to support projects and solutions for design, modeling, architectural trade-off, and performance assessment;
  • Modeling and simulation of Navigation Payloads;
  • Simulation of Navigation Signals generation, acquisition, tracking, performance assessment, distortion estimation, and payload self-equalization;
  • Lead the team and the activity with the aim to contribute to the internal R&D activities for all aspects related to Navigation Signal Processing;

You will act as a member of the Navigation Engineering team co-located in Rome, working in the following projects:

  • European Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS): Galileo first and second Generation;
  • Moonlight: Lunar Navigation and Communication Satellite System that has the ambition to build the first Navigation Satellite system around the Moon;
  • LEO-PNT system (Low-Earth-Orbit Positioning Navigation and Time system): constellation of small satellites in LEO orbit that provide PNT service to the user on the Earth;
  • Several Space programs for the Italian Space Agency (ASI), European Space Agency (ESA), and also Non-European Agency and Countries;

Skills & Experience

The candidate shall have the following qualifications and working experience:

  • PhD or University Master degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent;
  • 5-7 years of experience in Signal Processing;
  • Experience in design, analyses, and simulations of medium complex systems;
  • At least 1-2 years of experience as a technical team leader in projects of medium-low complexity;
  • Experience with analysis of requirements and definition of technical solutions;
  • Very good attitude in team working and cooperation with other team members. It is mandatory to have very good soft skills to promote team-working;
  • Welcome knowledge and previous expertise with space technology and solutions;
  • Welcome previous experience in project management with a focus on the management of activity, cost, and schedule;
  • Very good knowledge of system engineering process and ECSS standard;
  • Team-working, problem solving;
  • Fluency in English is mandatory;
  • Italian language is desirable;
  • EC nationality;
  • Applicants must be eligible for security clearance by their national security administration even if their main activities are non-classified;
