Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) On-Site with Security Clearance
The AFSOs will have an understanding and experience of 32 CFR Part 117 National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and general security requirements for DOD and other Federal agencies
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in all aspects pertaining to the Defense Information System for Security (DISS) for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)
This will include but not be limited to: Create individual DISS screens.
Understand the requirements and systems to process someone for a DoD and DoE security clearance.
Verify employee personnel information.
Print archival and signature pages.
Transmit clearance information to DCSA.
Process visitor authorization requests.
Monitor reinvestigation requirements of personnel.
Maintain the facility clearance documentation and notices for each cleared facility in the DCSA’s system, and support facility clearance sponsoring efforts.
Work with Corporate FSO to ensure compliance with NISPOM and DD 441 for each Katmai entity with a facility clearance.
Prepare VARs (Visit Authorization Requests) via DISS or manual process.
Provide guidance to executives, program managers, and staff on security-related matters, including briefings, training, and security clearance processing.
Review all security paperwork for accuracy, completion, and submission via the government’s system.
Instruct employees to ensure completion of security paperwork and related training.
Report the status of clearance applications to the manager, applicants, and employees going through a periodic reinvestigation.
Maintain accurate records for all security documentation and files in accordance with DCSA rules, regulations, and best practices.
Assist in monitoring compliance with security training programs for the company - will be tasked with presenting security awareness materials company-wide and/or select groups within the company and distributing via the company’s compliance distribution method.
Conduct internal audits, and self-inspections at prescribed intervals.
Assist the Corporate FSO with preparing necessary documentation in support of DCSA security assessments.
Provide security support to Human Resources, Contracts, and Proposal teams.
Work with executive leadership as requested to draft and archive corporate records and resolutions needed for the maintenance of the National Industrial Security System (NISS) entity profiles.
Satisfactory completion of mandatory FSO courses and training via DCSA within six (6) months of hire.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance (U.S
citizenship required).
Experience using general office equipment including industry-standard computer software.
Competent computer skills, including proficiency using Microsoft programs (emphasis in Outlook, Excel and Word).
Familiarity with Microsoft Access software or similar systems, with the ability to maintain detailed databases.
Experience in using web-based data systems.
Working experience with DCSA databases including but not limited to: DISS, NBIS, NISS, and SWFT.
Experience with protection requirements for handling and safeguarding Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills including that needed to accurately and orderly file documents.
Good analytical and interpersonal relationship skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality restrictions, as well as quality and safety standards.
Ability to follow instructions.
Ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
Ability and willingness to work with the attitude of helpfulness, including within a team environment.
Ability to work with limited on-site supervision, self-motivated.
Ability to create and edit simple documents for inter-office communications, including completion of forms.
Excellent written and communication skills
WORK SCHEDULE 40 hours per week
May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project
TRAVEL Potential for travel for training
When required, employee will need to complete an MVR check
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy
Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving
The expected driving time is less than 5%
WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Position consists of seeing up close and sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting up to 10 pounds
Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse

COMPENSATION PACKAGE Salary Range: $70,000 - $85,000 per year
