We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our Fairfax, Virginia team. As a COTA in VA, you can work alongside our talented clinicians and with our children and families to make a lasting difference. View these exciting jobs and come join our team!

Come join a team of passionate therapists providing excellent pediatric therapy to children throughout the United States! Achieve Beyond was founded in 1995 and is continuously growing to meet the needs of developmentally disabled children through our ABA, speech, occupational, and physical therapy. We currently offer our COTA services in the entire metro New York area (including the five boroughs of NYC, Hudson Valley and Long Island) and Albany, New Jersey, Minnesota, Connecticut, California (greater Los Angeles area, San Diego, and Orange County), Delaware, and the Virginia/ Maryland/ DC area. We specialize in conducting initial evaluations and providing ongoing services in home, community and clinic settings. Achieve Beyond is centered around our culture of collaboration and support to ensure our services are of the highest quality and adhere to our strong ethical standards.

All of our Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants will have access to the following benefits:

  • Full practice management – we take care of intake, staffing, billing, tracking authorizations, insurance correspondence and maintenance of your certifications, so you are able to focus on providing our children with the best services!

  • Team-building meetings, events, and trainings in Virginia and beyond


Virginia Locations:

COTA positions available throughout Virginia - Fairfax, Woodbridge, Metro DC region

Responsibilities:

  • Implementation of occupational therapy services under the direction of a Licensed Occupational Therapist to achieve desired patient outcomes.
  • Provides goal directed and activity oriented treatment to promote optimum independence in self-care, functional mobility and daily life tasks.
  • Provides adaptive methods and equipment as appropriate to enhance performance.
  • Administer treatment focusing on activities of daily living, cognition, social skills, sensory motor, fine motor development, and problem solving.
  • Determine appropriateness of patient’s response to treatment and consult with licensed occupational therapist concerning modifications to plan of care.
  • COTAs must identifies patient/family needs for other services and refers accordingly


COTA Requirements:

  • Must have a passion for working with children and families
  • Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy assistant program
  • Hold a VA State License as an OTA
  • Must be self-motivated, a team player, and exercise patience/professionalism.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train.
  • The ability to climb and descend staircases
  • The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly
  • The ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and/ or crawl for extended periods

Compensation depends on experience and will be discussed during the interview process.
