This position will be located in Raleigh, NC and is on site with no telecommute possibilities. Put your years of experience into a future of excellence working with Northrop Grumman supporting the United States Postal Service. This position will support the virtual desktop infrastructure. In this capacity, you will provide technical leadership in the design, installation, upgrade, configuration, and implementation of VMware's End-User Computing (EUC) products including but not limited to Horizon View, App Volumes, User Environment Manager, Workspace ONE, ThinApp, and vRealize Operations for Horizon. Roles and Responsibilities include, but not limited to: Operational support of all Windows system administration within the EUC space including Windows Server and Windows Desktop Operating systems. Deploy and maintain secure desktop images in the VMware virtual desktop Infrastructure in accordance with policies and industry standards. Centrally store, manage, and maintain user preferences and data. Manage and maintain VMware AppVolumes managers, databases, App Stacks and writable volumes. The selected individual will work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a team. May be required to create time sensitive deliverables. May lead project teams within assigned unit develop, plan and manage project tasks. Participate in the preparation of materials and oral presentations for customers and management. Play a lead role in meetings relating to specific technical projects or tasks. Respond promptly to incidents in ServiceNow. Will be assigned responsibility for advanced technical issues in the environment for problem resolution. Diagnose and repair system problems working closely with vendor support for all servers, software and other hardware directly or with the team members. Define, monitor, optimize, and troubleshoot system performance of all EUC systems. HOURS: 5/40 workweek Requirements: NOTE: Do NOT submit the same candidate from Req# 8843241. Bachelor's Degree in Systems Analysis, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or associated discipline preferred and a minimum of 5 years of applicable experience. Ability to develop and maintain IT documentation. Comfortable working in and making registry edits. Manager will try to pick up candidate (directly) if things goes well after 4-5 months. Manager is open to phone interview if candidate is non-local. If hired, candidate must relocate on their own (no relocation package). 3 MUST have and must be visible on candidate's resume: 1. UEM experience - User Environment Manager. 2. App Volume / AppStack experience. 3. Scripting experience - PowerShell and Visual Basic. Manager is not looking for a hardware/service experience. Manager wants to see candidate with software maintenance and management experience. Preferred Qualifications: A current VMware Certification (preferably a VCP6-DTM or VCP7-DTM or VCAP6-DTM or VCAP7-DTM). Strong background in Desktop Virtualization: VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, Citrix; Microsoft RDS. Dell Wyse Configuration Manager experience and knowledge. Experience working in a large enterprise environment. Knowledge of storage area networks to include network operating systems, SAN protocols, SAN management, and SAN physical configuration. Knowledge of MSI and Windows Installer technologies for creating ThinApps and App Stacks. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Systems Analysis, Systems Engineering, or Computer Science or associated discipline. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
