Job Description

Bring your supply chain, logistics and project planning and implementation experience to our fast-paced, forward thinking work environment based in Norcross, Georgia to manage and optimize our Transportation Management System for all inbound and outbound product related transactions and activity. Leading implementation of improvement projects to mitigate overall freight costs and optimizing the TMS in support of operational execution and best customer experience is an important aspect of this management role.
Transportation Management System Manager Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in Supply Chain related functions.
  • 3 years of experience in transportation.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing, consumer products, or similar industries.
  • Demonstrated experience in the project planning, selection and implementation of a best-in-class transportation management system (TMS).
  • Demonstrated, strong, current knowledge working with key enterprise systems that enable distribution and transportation processes including ERP (SAP preferred), WMS (Manhattan preferred), and TMS. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects, driving to successful on-time/on-budget completion that delivers on business benefits. 
  • Bachelors in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent.
  • Strong verbal and written bilingual communication skills in English and Spanish preferred.  
  • Strong working knowledge of how these systems support processes. 
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management principles, strategies, and processes
  • Strong, deep, current knowledge of and experience with LTL, Parcel, Rail and TL transportation industry processes, methods, modes, methods, carriers, and costs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations (DOT, IATA), including Hazmat regulations.
  • Experience in a distribution/transportation organization that services / ships to the big-box retail channel.
  • Strong, deep, current knowledge of and experience with common transportation industry forms and labels including packing list, shipping label, BOL, customs documents, regulatory and warning labels, for both domestic and export processes.
  • Experience with Transportation KPIs and key metrics, scorecards etc.; experience analyzing transportation costs and spend by mode and optimizing efficiency.
  • Strong understanding of the master data that supports and drives system functionality in distribution and transportation, e.g. routing guides/ routing tables.  
  • Experience managing this data, maintaining it, and being responsible for data quality
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience with business process design and management including creation of process flows, work instructions, and training documents; experience deploying processes to end users, measuring and monitoring process performance and compliance.
  • Knowledge of LEAN tools and methods; experience identifying and executing continuous process improvement opportunities. 
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and trends in distribution and transportation.
  • Self-driven, team-oriented, fast learning, organized, disciplined, professional, goal oriented individual with positive attitude.  
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, build teams, influence without authority, drive organizational change, and build strong stakeholder relationships. 
  • Determine optimal logistics program configurations to achieve best customer service at best quality and cost.
