Part Time Security Officer

We are currently seeking a part time, seasonal Security Officer for our 2nd shift team who will be responsible for a secure work environment and provide protection to associates, visitors and the company from illegal acts. They may monitor points of access in the building to allow entry only to individuals with the correct identification or authorization. In emergency situations, they may provide first aid or assistance as first responders. This position is expected to maintain strong lines of communication with all internal and external customers and is entrusted with a high level of confidentiality. Security Officers are required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with company policies and state and federal laws, while demonstrating the values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity and safety.  

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily activities and make reports as directed
  • Provide first aid to associates as needed
  • Monitor team members, visitors, vehicles and equipment entering and exiting the facility to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures
  • Provide feedback to management or Human Resources regarding any exceptions, incidents or pertinent information
  • Ensure that all Company security standards, policies and procedures are maintained
  • Ensure the building's integrity
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, soliciting, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
  • Watch for and report irregularities, such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes and security doors left unlocked
  • Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property
  • Sound alarm or call police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
  • Permit authorized persons to enter property
  • Responsible for the safe use and care of company equipment that may be assigned
  • May be responsible for closing the LTD facilities as needed, following a closing procedure as designated by Security Management
  • Adhere to all safety warnings and regulations throughout the warehouse

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4 years of security experience, preferred active or retired police personnel
  • Firearms training and state registration for armed positions required
  • Maintain a current understanding of first aid and its proper applications
  • Must be able to demonstrate the use of good judgment
  • Maintain constructive support of LTD's policies and procedures
  • Must have a strong commitment to safety
  • Ability to preserve confidentiality of information
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Must be able to produce a written statement of an occurrence that is organized and detailed
  • Must be able to effectively share information with other work units for coordinated efforts in solving crimes
  • Must be able to willingly cooperate with fellow workers and treat everyone with equal dignity
  • Must have good written/verbal communication skills
  • Consistently promote an outstanding public image
Shift: 3p to 1am (Closing)

Specific Physical Requirements & Frequency:

  • Walk and stand indoors and outdoors or monitor areas for up to eighty percent of work time
  • Maneuver safely up and down flights of stairs multiple times a round or shift
  • Lifting 50 lbs floor to knuckle and carry 100 feet
  • Walking 1/4 (1320ft) mile in 5.5 minutes or under
  • Sustain positions of stooping, squatting, kneeling for 20 seconds each
  • Must remain in good physical condition in order to stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • A "Fitness for Duty" evaluation may be required if the above requirements are unable to be met
  • Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions within a typical warehouse setting, including heat, cold, dust, noise and moving machinery 

Educational Qualifications: High School Diploma or Equivalent
