Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to assist on a variety of public and private sector infrastructure projects in Albany, NY! We are seeking to add a full-time Senior Engineer in our newly remodeled Albany Office who will participate in the design of highway, rail, and pedestrian bridge projects for public and private sector clients from scoping through construction phases.

Responsibilities

  • The selected candidate will work in the Infrastructure Department (Bridges and Structures) on various projects including new or rehabilitated roads, bridges, culverts, and associated site work.
  • Responsibilities will include design of highway infrastructure, bridge design, culvert design, grading, drainage, utilities, SWPPP, technical reports, and estimating.
  • The selected candidate will assist our Project Managers with calculations, design reviews, permitting, review of plans & calculations, and the development of specifications/construction documents.
  • Some field inspection duties may be required.
  • Includes design work and may include some opportunities for client-facing interaction.
  • Participate in the interpretation, update, and/or creation of Standards of Practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 2-4 years’ experience.
  • EIT required, P.E. preferred.
  • Prior DOT experience highly preferred.
  • Be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in highway/bridge/culvert layout, grading, and utility design.
  • Proficiency with hydraulics, hydrological analysis, and stormwater management design is a plus.
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation.
  • Experience with NYSDOT/AASHTO standards/publications a plus.
  • Experience with municipal projects a plus.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $67,432.93-$91,861.60 DOQ
