Location: US:WI:MILWAUKEE at our FROEDTERT HOSPITAL facility.
*1.0 FTE is Full-Time, any position less than 1.0 FTE is Part-Time, and .001 FTE is Optional Part-Time*
*Positions with an 'FTE' (full time equivalency) of .875 - 1.0 are eligible for full-time medical, dental and vision benefits. Positions with an 'FTE' of .5 - .874 are eligible for part-time pro-rated medical, dental and vision benefits*
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT / CLERICAL Job Summary: Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Nurse Manager and nursing staff of defined inpatient unit(s) that includes but not limited to unit's staff scheduling and timecard edits utilizing the automated timekeeping system. Provides support for clerical duties and programs across the defined units for which the Nurse Manager is accountable. Has additional accountabilities to and receives direction and guidance from the Director, Patient Systems and Support. Uses independent judgment and decision making in carrying out required responsibilities. Improvement of systems, development of procedures, composition and transcription of minutes and correspondence are also essential responsibilities. Responsible for completing and assisting with projects related to program development, department operations, personnel and secretarial functions. On a regular basis has access to confidential personnel information relating to FMLH employee corrective actions, confidential budgetary information and other issues related to employee relationships. This information must be kept strictly confidential. Other duties as assigned.
A minimum of three (3) years of administrative/clerical support experience is required. Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred. Experience with automated time and attendance system is preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree in Office Management or Administrative Assistant, Secretarial Science from an accredited college, or other relevant coursework beyond high school is preferred.
Demonstrated skill in working both independently and interdependently. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of the principles and practices used to provide professional administrative support. Knowledge of office management procedures and practices. Proficient in use of various software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, e-mail and electronic calendars. Ability to effectively utilize automated scheduling and timekeeping system. Ability to acquire skills in new software programs as needed. Excellent organizational abilities including the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload. Ability to demonstrate initiative and function in a fast paced environment. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Ability to be self-directed in accomplishing coordination and decision-making and be resourceful in problem-solving.
