Main Purpose and Function:

Designs, performs and reports experiments necessary to attain the objectives of RD&I projects which aligns with business strategy.

Applies polymer and surface chemistry knowledge to assist the development of new technology for Surface Chemistry business. Application areas include but not limit to personal care, lube and fuel, petroleum, agro, mining, and cleaning, etc.

Key Responsibilities

Plans, designs and performs complex experimental work. Interpret, compile and report experimental results.

Become an expert in the areas of property measurements and application testing, and present analyses and reports.

Maintain a record of work in lab notebooks and be very proficient in Excel and Word to generate data reports.

Conduct routine maintenance and calibration for relevant instruments.

Performance Skills

The candidate must have good communication skills, both oral and written. The ability to work in a team environment is desired.

Knowledge of physical chemistry, polymer science, and surfactant science is preferred. Prior working experience in the applications of surfactants and polymers to achieve specific performance target is a plus.

The candidate must possess a motivated personality and be able to work with minimal supervision. The candidate must be able to effectively interact with various functions within the business unit.

Requirements
Master's Degree in chemistry / chemical technology or Bachelor’s Degree in chemistry / chemical technology with 2 to 3 years of experience. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
