Licensed Practical Nurse

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES

  • Processes physician orders accurately
  • Provides nursing care according to physician orders and conformance with established standards and nursing policies.
  • Performs accurate initial and ongoing nursing assessments
  • Communicates with the medical team on patient status and follows up as ordered
  • Completes documentation as required, accurately and in a timely manner
  • Educates patient on medical tests, procedures, medication and other items as appropriate.
  • Accurately administers medications in all forms
  • Is an integral part of the interdisciplinary patient assessment team

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • CPR certification and Crisis Management (offered at our hospital)
  • Licensed to practice as a LPN in the state of North Carolina required
  • Ability to work with male and female adult, over 18, substance abuse/dually diagnosed population.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Considerable knowledge/experience in nursing philosophy, policy, practices and procedures.
  • 1 year of experience working in the substance abuse/mental health field
