Job Description

The Material Flow Engineer - 2019 Top Loading Laundry role will own the development and implementation of the material flow plan for the 2019 Top Load Laundry Program. They will work closely with the design and supply chain teams to ensure that parts are available to operators how and when they need them to assembly a world class product. In addition to their responsibilities around the 2019 program, the Material Flow Engineer will be responsible for supporting block builds, NPI’s, and Cost Take out initiatives for TL/HA Laundry.
  • Lead execution of material flow plan for 2019 TL Laundry Program.
  • Develop external and internal material flow plans for 2019 TL Laundry Program, including Standard Work and Supermarket Setup.
  • Work with PPM’s and MCL’s to develop returnable packaging and freight plans.
  • Represent AP1 Manufacturing in Core Team Meetings, Action Workouts, Mock Builds, etc.
  • Provide financial impact estimates around 2019 TL Program scenarios to facilitate program decision making.
  • Coordinate block builds and NPI’s with AP1 Materials team.
  • Work projects affecting current production to prepare the AP1 team for program launch.
  • Implement the use of AGV technology with support of Central AME Materials group.
  • Participate in daily Gemba Walks to support shop floor initiatives.
  • Salary leader responsible for the 5S of a designated area within AP1.
  • Job Requirements

  • BS engineering (IE, ME or EE) or equivalent.
  • Lean manufacturing implementation experience
  • 3 Years operational experience
  • Ability to perform quick financial estimates based on continually changing operation scenarios
  • Experience leading and driving change in assembly areas.
  • Demonstrates initiative and takes action proactively. Possess the self-discipline to take actions before they are necessary, optimism towards achieving positive outcome and the competitiveness to translate a plan into action.
  • Strong problem solving, analytic, and project management skills. Goal-oriented and proactive in problem solving, coupled with creativity and a high energy level.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • SCDP Graduate
  • Previous Mission 1 launch experience
