Nestled conveniently in North Texas in the vibrant city of Denton is the corporate headquarters of Sally Beauty Holdings, the world’s largest wholesale and retail distributor of beauty supplies.  We are inviting applications for our VP of Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations. SBH is seeking a dynamic and innovative individual to lead its Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations teams while remaining dedicated to our mission and cultural values.  This position reports to the Company’s Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer, and has significant interaction with leaders across the organization.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for all aspects of executive compensation. Responsible for preparing all materials for Compensation Committee meetings, including short-term and long-term incentive design programs, reporting and updates and all required approvals and filings. Attends all Compensation Committee meetings to present materials and proposals
  • Strategic leadership of the compensation, benefits, HRIS and shared services solution center departments
  • Responsible for providing strategic guidance and decision-making on all compensation and benefits issues and policies. Regularly interacts with business leaders to identify areas of need and opportunity
  • Oversees the HRIS operations required to ensure the quality and processing of people data. Facilitates the implementation of HRIS system customizations and reporting.   
  • Directs the formation, revision and administration of all compensation programs (including market analysis and implementation of effective pay/reward systems). Directs all broad-based compensation and minimum wage compliance for non-exempt employees. Partners with the business to assess compensation strategies that help drive sales and reward profitability, while ensuring plan design is competitive and equitable.
  • Oversees and provides executive guidance to the Benefits Department, ensuring benefits are reviewed on an ongoing basis to ensure they are competitive, cost-efficient and meaningful to associates across the organization.
  • Builds talent of direct reports with focus on growth to assume increased levels of responsibility in each functional department. Provides ongoing development to all levels of teams in Compensation, Benefits and HR Operations.
  • Prepares budget proposals and monitors departmental expenses to ensure that the department is within budget expectations and spending where it is most impactful.
  • All aspects of leadership and talent management of team
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting/Finance or Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Preferred designations including Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).
  • 10+ years in Human Resources with significant experience in compensation, benefit plans, and HRIS.
  • Significant experience with public company executive compensation matters, including interaction with Compensation Committees or Board of Directors, required.
  • Sound knowledge of SOX requirements and other government regulations applicable to compensation, benefits and HR function required.
  • Experience managing employee benefit plans.
  • Minimum of 7 years previous supervisory experience.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to plan, forecast, and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to lead others in a variety of settings.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.
