Role:- User Research Operations Engineer

Location- Austin, TX (Work from office 5 days a week)

Duration- Long Term




Job Description

Minimum Qualifications

" 3+ years of technical work experience in high volume consumer electronic testing and data collection, preferably in computer, tablet or mobile phone.

" 3+ years of hands-on experience facilitating in-person user studies required. Additional 2+ years bringing up and supporting user research preferred.

" Excellent understanding of Terminal/command line, installing software, and troubleshooting issues that arise.

" Able to stand up, scale and coordinate technical bench and user studies.

" High attention to detail, resourceful, passionate, creative and results oriented.

" Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

" Familiar with research fundamentals (design of experiment, user research, statistics, data visualization).

" Familiar with engineering fundamentals across multiple disciplines (Hardware, Software, Algorithms, Human Factors, Data Infrastructure).

" Proficient in data management tools and technologies, such as SQL, Excel, Python, etc is a plus.

" Project management will be a bonus.

" Experience working with RF and wireless connectivity technologies is a plus (e.g. Bluetooth, WiFi).



Description

" Manage multiple user research studies concurrently in a multifaceted, changing environment.

" Write technical documents including study instructions, operating procedures and training documents for study facilitators.

" Facilitate user study sessions ensuring a great participant experience and high-quality data collection.

" Train and oversee other study facilitators on data collection procedures.

" Contribute to the design of user study data collection systems including hardware, firmware, software and user interface specifications.

" Review and assess study data for quality and integrity. Bring up, pilot and troubleshoot study protocols and data collection systems.

" Anticipate and develop risk mitigation strategies for potential scenarios that can jeopardize data quality and study timelines.

" Creatively identify and refine study protocols, processes and procedures to improve participant experience, data quality and operational efficiency.



Education & Experience

" BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or related major) with 3+ years of experience required; MS preferred.
