The Analytical Engineer - Analytical Science Kunshan is in charge of applying and/or modifying Chromatography methods on equipment based in GDCK. This is a new position in the organization established due to business intention to bring additional knowledge to the team in Kunshan. The incumbent will be in charge of the different instruments and methods linked to chromatography analysis in Kunshan. On a regular basis, he will be in touch with counterparts and experts based in Luxembourg.

From a technical perspective, the incumbent in this role will add critical knowledge and practice considering chromatography methodology. This is a critical capability that needs to be built within the team in Kunshan from a business point of view.



Responsibilities:

  1. Communication to customers: Ensure communication to internal customers (Quality, Technology, and Product development teams and leaders) on advancements on their requests: status, hurdles, delays, new developments, etc. Participate in meetings to explain obtained results and ensure good comprehension of the obtained results by high-quality comprehensive reports.
  2. Development of new methods: Drive technology advancement for Analytical Science methods for the Asia Pacific region to address needs of product and technology development and manufacturing, as requested by GRMDA and Compounding teams. In detail:
    1. Assess new material testing technologies and recommend procurement of new laboratory assets;
    2. Lead the development of Chromatography methods in the laboratory;
    3. Develop new chemical analysis methods for materials characterization;
    4. Apply problem-solving and analytical skills for compound reformulation, competitors' analyses, or plant problems.
  3. Operations: Reporting of observations/conclusions of analyses in comprehensive reports and presentations. Apply lean principles like visually managing WIP and Cycle time bottlenecks. Ensure global collaboration and execution within the department of best practices and standardization for analysis work and report issuing. Apply best practices for safety and for analytical labs. Inspire and cultivate a ‘No One Gets Hurt’ Safety culture.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Analytical Science;
  • 1-3 years related working experience;
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in a systematic manner.
