Manages IT projects as assigned from scoping to closeout utilizing a standard methodology. Primary projects are the IT service deployment, configuration, and integration of new Data Center Construction projects. Other projects will include software development upgrades and releases of a SaaS applications host enterprise service bus, network hardware installations and replacements for data centers, security and assurance, enterprise system migrations and upgrades. Projects support the installation, maintenance, or ongoing operations of data centers and/or the internal business functional areas.

Coordinates work performed by IT staff, internal business partners, and vendors by documenting project scope, assisting the Business Analyst with defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training, and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Can also include organizational change management depending on the individual project scope.

Projects may vary in number, size, and complexity.

Senior IT Project Manager lead and direct multiple concurrent projects. The individual is also involved in larger-scale projects supervised by more senior IT Project Managers or Business PMO. They take projects from the original concept through to final implementation. This person will interface with all stakeholders.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and ensures that the project delivers the solution, remains within baselined budget, is delivered on time while achieving quality criteria and maintaining client satisfaction

  • Works with internal or vendor subject matter experts to determine project tasks and cadence of activities, and actively identifies and documents project issues and risks

  • Documents project status in the IT Plan of Record system to keep management, clients, and project team informed of project status and related issues and risks

  • Takes responsibility for all aspects of the full life cycle of the assigned projects

  • Manages client and stakeholder satisfaction, commitment, and expectations to high service levels and manages escalations adequately

  • Kicks off vendor selection through defined processes (which may include Request for Information, Request for Proposal, or other Due Diligence activities)

  • Partners with the appropriate internal business units to ensure that technical team/vendor time and resource usage in support of business units follows the negotiated MSA/contractual terms and rate cards

  • Understanding of IT security best practices as well as the importance to remain compliant with all corporate policies

  • Schedules and facilitates weekly project status meetings with vendors and project team

  • Ensures the project meets its approved timeline, scope, quality, and cost targets

  • Monitor and track project progress, actively manage risks and issues, and effectively escalate when needed


  • Ability to work effectively with teams and individuals distributed globally across time zones and cultures

  • Must encourage, support, and guide continuous improvement of the team, its products, and processes

  • Able to resolve conflict through arbitration, negotiation, reasoned discussion, or escalation

  • Ability to identify problems, impediments, dependencies, and other team dysfunctions, and then facilitate quick resolution

  • A proactive self-starter who can operate independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of IT Service Delivery preferred

  • Knowledge of IT managed services and/or cloud computing preferred

  • Knowledge of ITIL a plus

  • Understanding of Construction processes

  • Possess excellent problem solving, critical thinking and interpersonal skills

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Possess excellent customer service skills

  • Highly motivated self-starter

  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm in dynamic environment

What will make you a good fit for the role?


  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Management, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Holds a PMP credential and/or other PMI certifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience as a project manager within a similar environment

  • Working knowledge of waterfall and agile project methodologies

  • Proficient in SharePoint and MS Office 365 (Project, Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Experience working remotely from home office, being part of virtual teams, leading and participating in meetings via video calls


  • Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending

  • Able to hear and speak into a telephone/headset

  • Close visual work on a computer terminal

  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments

  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs


  • Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer

  • This role is expected to be remote with an occasional need to be on-site in a shared space


  • Must possess a current, valid state-issued drivers license

  • Periodic travel to U.S. data center locations

  • Must be able to accommodate the occasional work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays
