Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the pharmacists, inventory control, medication distribution, floor stock delivery, preparation of IV admixture using sterile technique and maintains records of distribution and assists in nursing inspections, participates in performance improvement and data collections activities and clerical duties as assigned. Maintains professional standards in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures maintaining the highest degree of quality patient care and assures smooth operation of the pharmacy department. Provides pharmaceutical care for the following age groups: neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Performs other tasks as assigned by the pharmacists.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  • Previous pharmacy technician experience preferred

  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) preferred

  • State Pharmacy Technician License/Registration required (if required by state regulations

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Graduate of ASHP-accredited or equivalent pharmacy technician training program preferred
