Planner / Senior Planner, Supply Chain
Description:
- Independently create and distribute production schedules and all accompanying documentation for assigned materials based on requirements, component availability, and capacity of assigned work centers.
- Communicate with manufacturing management and floor personnel or vendors concerning daily production issues that affect the completion of the schedule. Must be able to effectively solve problems by working with manufacturing management, quality, and supply chain departments.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of assigned materials to support inventory goals and production requirements. Put measures into place to reduce short dated/expired material in addition to taking appropriate inventory control actions regarding short dated, expired or obsolete materials.
- Proactively analyze and develop appropriate safety stock levels for assigned materials. Assist with detailed inventory analysis and development of recommendations for state-of-the art inventory control, continuous improvement, and on time, in full delivery practices. Completes other strategic analysis as required.
- Coordinate and plan non-commercial demand (product development batches) and new product launches.
- Support senior management in strategic planning and decision making.
- Identify necessary updates to Master Recipes for assigned materials in conjunction with MDM, PE, and QM.
- Maintain MRP material master data for assigned materials utilizing the MDM process.
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution required in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline.
- ASCM certification strongly preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment or other relevant industry.
- Will be required to learn the production processes for all materials in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Must have a general understanding of systems required to perform planning tasks, (SAP and Manufacturing Workbench, or comparable ERP systems).
- Excellent computer, analytical, mathematical, and Microsoft Excel skills are preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills to be effective in this job.
- Must have the ability to evaluate and interpret data and formulate logical conclusions.
PLANNER Description\:
Responsible for evaluating the outputs of MRP and preparing the short term detailed production / procurement schedule for assigned materials. This may include areas of direct material procurement, intermediate production, finished good packaging, and/or contract manufactured materials. The planner will work to achieve the corporate supply goals of customer service level, production service level, inventory targets, minimization of back orders and outdated inventory, and overall continuity of supply to customers. The planner will routinely interface with fellow supply planners, production execution, quality management, inbound/outbound logistics, TPM, operations management, CMOs, vendors, and other business partners.

- Maintain appropriate inventory levels of assigned materials to support inventory goals and production requirements. Responsible for analyzing and managing appropriate inventory control actions with regard to short dated, expired, or obsolete materials.
- Work with planning management to analyze and develop appropriate safety stock levels for assigned materials.
- Coordinate and plan non-commercial demand (product development batches) and new product launches.
- Support management in strategic planning and decision making.
- Identify necessary updates to BOMs and Master Recipes for assigned materials in conjunction with MDM, PE, and QM.
- Maintain MRP material master data for assigned materials utilizing the MDM process.
PLANNER Requirements\:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or other relevant discipline plus a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a cGMP manufacturing organization or similar environment.
- OR
- In lieu of degree, a minimum of 6 years of supply chain, planning or other professional experience in a cGMP manufacturing or similar environment.
- ASCM certification preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated mathematical and Microsoft Excel skills are needed.
- Must have good written and verbal communication skills to be effective in this job.
- Required to execute production processes for all materials in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Required to manage applicable systems necessary to perform planning tasks,(SAP, Manufacturing Workbench, GoTrack, etc.)
