Job Details: Industry:          Pharmaceutical Work Location:  St. Petersburg, FL Job Title:           BUYER Duration:          6 Months (Temporary/Contract)   JOB DESCRIPTION: BUYER – St. Petersburg, FL Kelly Services is currently seeking a BUYER for one of our top clients in St. Petersburg, FL. Hours: 8am-5pm General Summary: Perform, lead, and improve processes listed below: 
Enter PO’s and resolve discrepancies. 
Run reports as needed. 
Identify and support site-level and global procurement initiatives for cost savings, contract opportunities, supplier quality and risk mitigation of single sourced materials. 
Participates and supports new product launches to influence sourcing decision and purchase materials as needed to meet project timelines. 
Support activities working with internal customers and suppliers to obtain information and product required for material qualification. 
Participates in or may lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce cost and improve quality for internal and external customers. 
Develop key supplier relationships to serve the local site’s needs. 
Support Global Procurement strategic imperatives. 
Negotiates pricing and contracts, ensures compliance with contracts. 
Process requisitions and place orders with Catalent Pharma Solutions approved suppliers to obtain materials required to support product launches, dual sourcing efforts and cost savings initiatives. 
Communicate material availability, lead-time, supplier capacity & capability updates to stakeholders and take ownership for entire procurement process, resolving all discrepancies from placement of order, through receipt, payment of goods and returns. 
Provides support to determine root cause for poor vendor performance and late deliveries. 
Provides support to resolve supplier quality issues and take corrective action. 
Notifies internal customers of supplier changes notifications, assume role as liaison with supplier to obtain documents and material required to approve change. Provide frequent updates to stakeholders impacted by change to mitigate supply chain risk. 
Responsible for ensuring the supplier adheres to the guidelines specified on the purchase order. 
Prepare various reports for cost savings tracking, supplier spend analysis and performance. 
Comply with all site and Corporate SOPs and documented processes. 
Complies with and follows all procedures within the company Security, EHS and Global Trade policies. 

Requirements: 

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in business, finance, engineering, sciences, purchasing, or other operations field is required with a minimum of seven (7) year of progressive purchasing experience. 
Previous experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech or medical device industry is required. 
Advanced PC skills (specifically Excel, Power Point & Word) including knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems. JDE experience is a plus, but not required. 
Available for overtime on an as needed basis to meet business needs.

Extensive knowledge of procurement strategies, tactics, negotiation and contracting skills. 
High personal integrity and ethics with uncompromising standards. 
Well organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task. 
Self-motivated, disciplined, focused, and able to prioritize work (Determined to improve the overall throughput and financial goals of the organization. 
Able to bridge relationships with a variety of individuals and between various departments, sites, functions and levels of the organization. 
Able to work in an international team-based environment, intercultural skills. 
Highly literate to terms relating to procurement.
